First Runner-Up in Innovative Me

Below is the full interview after I became the First Runner-Up in the Innovative Me competition—a public speaking contest on creativity organized by Viettel Group.

When did you join Viettel? How do you feel about the environment and the people here?

I joined Viettel during a summer internship in my third year of university and have been a part of Viettel ever since.

Compared to other telecommunications and electronics enterprises in Vietnam, Viettel provides an exceptional environment for young people like me to build a solid foundation for our future careers.

What motivated you to participate in Innovative Me? Did you have any concerns before joining? And what were the difficulties and advantages throughout your journey from the first round to the finals?

Back when I was in university, I realized something I have always aspired to:

"Give as much as possible and leave a legacy for humanity."

So whenever there is an opportunity to share inspiring ideas with everyone, I seize it—I believe that was the motivation that led me to join Innovative Me.

Having worked on personal branding for nearly five years, the skills I gained along the way proved to be a great advantage, helping me throughout the competition—from content creation and video filming & editing to public speaking.

As for difficulties, time was quite tight because my professional workload in June was rather heavy.

What was your mindset when entering the competition? And what do you regret the most after it ended?

People are usually quite nervous until they step onto the stage, and I was no exception. However, my past experiences helped me stay calm and composed under pressure—I consider this a blessing and one of my key strengths.

My biggest regret was probably not taking first place (a bit greedy of me since being the runner-up is already great ^^). Had I won first place, I would have advanced to the group-wide finals and been able to share my ideas with a wider audience. Still, I admire Mr. Hoan (the first-prize winner) immensely and hope he will do great in his presentation at the group finals.

I heard that your English is quite good. Could you share your experiences and learning methods so everyone can master this subject?

As a member of Gen Z, I firmly believe there are two languages one must master as leverage for success in this era of integration: English and programming languages .

Therefore, I always try to integrate these two languages into my daily activities as much as possible to cultivate them subconsciously .

A few typical examples of practicing English include: watching foreign YouTube channels, using English subtitles when watching movies, reading English books, listening to Western music, etc.

It might be a little challenging at first, but with sufficient motivation, it only takes one to two weeks to get into the groove, and we can do it with ease.
